Rebeca Lois Lucret is a Puerto Rican-Cuban poet, playwright, and performer residing in New York City. Her work captures the essence of her Afro-Latino roots, weaving culture and life experiences into narratives that resonate deeply with audiences.

As co-writer of the sold-out play Live Big Girl and recipient of the 2023 Bronx Cultural Visions Grant for the co-production of Live Big Girl: A Chair That Fits, Rebeca’s creative evolution was significantly shaped way before then in 2013 when she joined the New York City Latina Writer’s Group (NYCLWG). There her words found a home and her voice was nurtured by a community of brave women storytellers. From then on she has been featured at prominent NYC venues, some of which include How To Build a Fire (HTBAF), 100 Hispanic Women of Westchester, Lit Crawl Brooklyn, The Glitter Pomegranate Series, great weather for Media, Travesías Urbanas/Urban Crossings Poetry Reading, and the New York City Poetry Festival at Governor’s Island. 

Rebeca’s writing has been featured in various publications, including Lalibreta.online, Ty(po-e:tic)us Literary Journal, Centro Voices: Letras, The BX Files Anthology (supporting El Fogon), Contemporary Haibun Online (CHO) Lit Journal, The Abuela Stories Project Anthology, and Brilliant Flame!
